International Journal of Applied Linguistics of Parahikma provides a forum for the researchers and practitioner in the field of linguistics and language teaching to share and update information related to the field. IJALP publishes articles, book reviews, review essay, and conference report relevant to core linguistics, applied linguistics, language acquisition, and language teaching.

The selection of these scopes in this journal is motivated by the fact that Indonesia is home to more than 400 languages from the total 6000 languages in the world. This vast linguistics resources provide researchers of languages in Indonesia with endless topic to investigate. In addition, the bitter fact that many of these languages are endangered and very limited research have been done on them should also be the motivation in investigating languages in the region. However, this journal is not limited to languages in Indonesia; no languages investigation is beyond the scope of this journal.

In relation to language teaching, this journal is expected to become meaningful resources for teachers wishing to continuously improve their expertise on the field. Besides, this journal is the perfect medium of sharing ideas and knowledge to keep teachers with any update information in order to maintain their professionalism. Therefore, the presence of this journal should intrigue all practitioners to actively participate not only in teaching but also in doing research as these two activities cannot be separated. Research in education results instill fresh material into the classroom that enable teachers to perform their update and current understanding on subject matters they deal with.
